What is marram grass?
Marram grass (Ammophila arenaria) is a resilient coastal plant known for its long, narrow blades and deep root system, essential for stabilising sand dunes against erosion. Its distinctive appearance is often shaped by persistent sea winds.
How is the wind movement captured in the design?
The design renders the grass blades as fine, curving lines that all arc in the same direction, as if shaped by a prevailing wind. This creates a sense of synchronised movement and fluidity, capturing a 'frozen moment' of nature's dance.
