The Composition

What the mural describes.

Close your eyes and breathe in the crisp, clean air of a May morning by the River Kennet. Here, stylised dog-roses, rendered in a captivating wild rose pink, unfurl their petals against a serene mid-indigo ground, their forms substantial yet gracefully separated by generous breathing spaces. Sinuous stems, verdant with the freshness of new growth, connect these floral bursts, creating a rhythm of fullness and emptiness that mirrors the abundant vegetation and clear waters of this cherished chalk stream. Gold highlights flicker like sunlight on stamens, bringing a subtle luminescence to the scene, while hints of pale blue deepen the sense of open sky.

This mural brings a balanced, open quality to your living room, bedroom, or garden room, evoking a sense of calm and natural beauty. Crafted precisely to your wall's dimensions, it arrives as numbered panels of matt non-woven paste-the-wall paper, ensuring a seamless and enduring transformation of your space.

A roll, a paste, a named hanger.

Each mural is printed to the exact measurements you submit — width, height, and drop — then supplied as sequentially numbered panels, ready to hang in order. Paste system: standard overlap paste, seams pattern-matched. No trimming required.

We work with a trusted network of specialist paperhangers. At the order stage we can introduce a recommended installer in your area — or supply full installation notes for your own hanger.

Questions

Asked of the studio.

What is the primary inspiration for the Kennet design?

The Kennet design is inspired by the clear, open character of a Berkshire chalk stream in May, featuring dog-roses and wild flowers against a mid-indigo ground.

How does this design balance ornament and space?

The design features substantial stylised flowers, but with generous gaps between them, creating an open, less dense feel that allows the mid-indigo ground to breathe, reminiscent of a wide river valley.
