What the mural describes.
The facade of a grand Shekhawati merchant haveli depicted in the flat, confident, exuberant fresco style of the Marwari painters who covered these buildings in stories. At ground level, a grand pointed arch with carved sandstone surround frames a dark doorway; through it, a colonnade of scalloped arches and geometric floor patterning recedes into shadow. Painted peacocks flank the arch at the apex. Above, the dominant horizontal band: an elephant procession in vermillion and Jodhpur blue — three caparisoned elephants with painted howdahs, attendants, and parasols moving in stately procession across the full width. Flanking the central axis, a pair of jharokha projecting balconies project with jali screens of interlocking star-and-hexagon geometric patterns in warm ivory sandstone. In a corner panel, a steam locomotive with outsized wheels and decorative smoke billows in the painters' charmingly naive style — the Shekhawati artists documented the arrival of modernity with the same enthusiasm they brought to elephants and gods. A merchant in saffron turban stands at his balance scale; a camel caravan loads textile bales nearby. Pigeons row the upper balustrade in plump, contented shapes. Above the roofline, the desert sky transitions from warm sand-gold to dusty Jodhpur blue. The entire composition is painted on warm desert sandstone — the golden canvas of a sun-lit wall in the Thar Desert.
Install on a living room feature wall 10–14 feet wide and the room becomes a Shekhawati street — warm, narrative, and impossible to stop looking at. Pair with teak and sheesham furniture, hand-forged brass hardware, block-printed cotton textiles, and dhurrie rugs. Adjacent walls in warm sand or deep Jodhpur blue. Printed to your exact wall measurements on matt non-woven paste-the-wall paper. Bespoke commissions welcomed.

Each mural is printed to the exact measurements you submit — width, height, and drop — then supplied as sequentially numbered panels, ready to hang in order. Paste system: standard overlap paste, seams pattern-matched. No trimming required.
We work with a trusted network of specialist paperhangers. At the order stage we can introduce a recommended installer in your area — or supply full installation notes for your own hanger.

Can I order a custom size, and how is the mural supplied?
Yes — every mural is made to your wall's exact width and height. You provide the dimensions at checkout and our atelier sizes the composition accordingly. The mural arrives as numbered drop panels in sequential order, making installation straightforward with standard paste-the-wall technique.
What is the material, and can the Jodhpur blue be deepened or lightened?
The mural is printed on a premium matt non-woven paste-the-wall paper. The Jodhpur blue tone — a key chromatic element in Shekhawati painting — can be shifted in intensity as a bespoke colourway commission. The sandstone ground warmth can also be adjusted. Please contact us to discuss your project.
