The composition is structured as a trompe l'oeil ceiling: an octagonal gilded frame opens to a burst of radiant blue sky at its heart, casting long rays of gold across the painted plasterwork. Within the central field, a monumental prophet-sibyl is enthroned in heavy lapis-blue robes, one hand on an open book, her face weighted with knowledge. An angel ascends in dramatic foreshortening above, wings spread wide, body bent toward the unseen source of light. To either side of the central oculus, reclining angel pairs observe from painted cornices in warm peach and amber; tumbling putti reach toward a gilded river-god mask — bearded, ancient, water streaming from its mouth in carved relief. A drapery swag in deep ultramarine and gold falls across an upper spandrel, held by a composed putti pair. The entire architectural surround — coffers, pilasters, cornices, gilt arabesques — is painted with the tonal logic of illuminated baroque plasterwork.
