The Composition

What the mural describes.

Enormous banana leaves refuse to be contained by the frame: the largest blade enters from the upper left and sweeps diagonally across the full composition, its pristine emerald surface divided by a central vein rendered in gold that reads as actual gilding in direct light, with secondary veins fanning outward in fine gold lines that impose an architectural rhythm on the organic form. Behind it, a second massive leaf shows beautiful tropical damage — its blade torn along the veins into ribbons that reveal the warm blush-pink ground beneath, each tearing edge curling to show the paler underside. A third leaf scrolls at its tip into a spiral of deep shadow. A fourth unfurls from behind the canopy as a pale yellow-green cigar, tender against the mature surrounding leaves. At the right, a banana flower hangs in deep magenta-red, its waxy bracts peeling back to show rows of pale green fingers; a cluster of green bananas arcs upward. A heliconia thrusts through a gap, its scarlet-and-gold lobster-claw bracts precisely rendered; a ginger flower in coral-pink adds a softer note. A gold-veined monstera appears in the lower right; a tiny sage gecko clings to a curling leaf underside — a discovery that rewards close looking. Throughout, the warm blush-pink ground (#f5e8e0) shows through every gap and tear, functioning as the glamorous stage on which the botanical drama performs.

Banana Leaf installed in a sitting room, dining room or hallway declares the interior's intentions without ambiguity. The combination of saturated green, metallic gold line and Palm Beach blush ground creates a room that is simultaneously maximalist and precisely controlled. How It Arrives

A roll, a paste, a named hanger.

Each mural is printed to the exact measurements you submit — width, height, and drop — then supplied as sequentially numbered panels, ready to hang in order. Paste system: standard overlap paste, seams pattern-matched. No trimming required.

We work with a trusted network of specialist paperhangers. At the order stage we can introduce a recommended installer in your area — or supply full installation notes for your own hanger.

Questions

Asked of the studio.

Can the blush-pink ground colour be changed — for example to a deeper terracotta or a soft black?

Yes. The ground colour is one of the most impactful bespoke adjustments — the same leaf composition reads entirely differently against deep charcoal, warm coral or ivory. We can also adjust the gold vein intensity. Contact us with your preferred ground and we will produce a sample for approval.

What material is this printed on, and how is it installed?

Banana Leaf is printed on premium matt non-woven paste-the-wall paper. The flat surface emphasises the illustrative quality of the gold-line veining. Panels are numbered in sequence and supplied with full installation instructions.
