A large ornate garden urn commands the left foreground, its acanthus-carved body warm with honey and grey stone where decades of weather have softened the relief — one side catching pale light, the other shadowed and mossy. Climbing rose canes arc across the composition in both directions: blush and cream blooms in heavy open heads, others still privately cupped, scattered petals lying on the stone below. Cascading wisteria in soft lavender-blue hangs from above in long racemes, its cool colour playing against the warm stone behind. A smaller tilted vase at a lower level anchors the corner; ivy climbs the carved stone panel to the right, its waxy leaves merging with the carved garland they shadow. Beyond the balustrade, stone steps lead up to a ruined classical folly with an open doorway, its columns entwined with more climbing greenery and the whole structure dissolving gently into a soft, luminous sky. The painting quality is warm oil on canvas: rich, layered, light suffused.
