This mural takes a position antithetical to the dense botanical: it is an exercise in restraint, in the contemplative power of what is left unpainted. The ground is aged parchment (#f0e8d8), a warm creamy tone with organic texture. Against it, a single gnarled plum branch enters from the upper left in a bold wet-ink stroke that tapers as it crosses the canvas, the ink thinning from assertive near-black at the base to pale dry-brush grey at the extremities. A lighter secondary branch extends from the mid-left in soft grey wash. A small sparrow — warm ochre-brown, painted in one confident stroke with a single dark dot for the eye — perches at the branch's mid-point, the composition's only warm accent and its undisputed focal point. Near the sparrow: three minimal plum blossoms rendered as soft-edged ghostly grey washes, a single unopened bud, a curled autumn leaf in warm ochre. At the base, an ink-wash rock settles with its characteristic pooling and bleeding; beside it, a few upward strokes of bamboo grass. In the upper-right, almost dissolving into the ground, a three-stroke sparrow in flight. A small cluster of ink splatters near the main branch — intentional imperfections that confirm the work as made by hand.

This mural works well in full-room application in a bedroom, a study or a serene hotel suite — the vast negative space prevents it from overwhelming even when all four walls are covered.
