What the mural describes.
Twenty minutes into absolute darkness, your eyes adjust, and the forest reveals its secret. Clusters of Omphalotus olearius, jack-o-lantern mushrooms, emerge from the base of a dead oak stump, their gills emitting an unmistakable, steady green-blue bioluminescence. These are not spooky lights, but numinous circles of cold green light, hovering like tiny, earthbound UFOs. Further into the scene, a fallen log is blanketed by Panellus stipticus, bitter oyster mushrooms, each shelf glowing with a soft, persistent light. The ground dominates, a living galaxy underfoot, while tree trunks rise, their bases subtly illuminated, their upper reaches dissolving into the profound mystery of the night.
