The Composition

What the mural describes.

Drawn in the warm, unhurried hand of a 1955 cookbook illustrator, The Baking Table scatters its objects across a vintage cream ground as though someone has just stepped away from the counter. A mint-green mixing bowl with a cream stripe sits slightly tilted in the upper left; a golden lattice-crust cherry pie steams gently in the lower right; a powder-blue teapot and a coral-pink quilted oven mitt hold the remaining corners. Between them, a flour-dusted rolling pin, a batter-splashed whisk, a dog-eared recipe card with a faint grease spot, and a set of nesting measuring cups in graduated pastels — mint, butter, coral — fill the intervals with the evidence of a kitchen in use. Gingham bows, plump cherry clusters, and a honey-brown wooden spoon provide the grace notes. Every outline is in soft charcoal, not hard black; every form is rounded and slightly imperfect in the manner of hand-drawn commercial art; every colour belongs to the warm, chalky palette of mid-century Pyrex.

The Baking Table is designed for kitchen accent walls, pantry interiors, breakfast nooks, and laundry rooms — spaces where personality is welcomed and warmth is the point. It pairs with painted cabinetry in white, pale sage, or powder blue, vintage-style hardware, open shelving, and warm pendant lighting. Printed to the exact dimensions of your wall on paste-the-wall non-woven paper, supplied as numbered drop panels. Bespoke colourways are available to match an existing kitchen palette.

How It Arrives

A roll, a paste, a named hanger.

Each mural is printed to the exact measurements you submit — width, height, and drop — then supplied as sequentially numbered panels, ready to hang in order. Paste system: standard overlap paste, seams pattern-matched. No trimming required.

We work with a trusted network of specialist paperhangers. At the order stage we can introduce a recommended installer in your area — or supply full installation notes for your own hanger.

Questions

Asked of the studio.

Can I order this at a custom size, and how is it supplied?

Yes — every order is made to your wall's exact measurements. Provide the width and height; we calculate the required drops and print them numbered in sequence for straightforward installation. Swatches are available to confirm the pastel palette works with your existing cabinetry colours before you commit.

What substrate is used, and how is it installed?

The Baking Table is printed on premium matt non-woven wallpaper. This is a paste-the-wall format — adhesive is applied to the wall surface rather than the paper — making it easier to position and adjust each drop during installation. No specialist tools are needed beyond a decorator's brush and smoother.
