What the mural describes.
Late afternoon on an East African savanna, painted in warm, painterly watercolour with visible brushwork, soft colour bleeds and pigment pooling in the organic way that wet-on-wet technique produces. The warm cream ground (#f4edd8) serves as both sunlit sky and parchment base, suffusing the entire scene with golden-hour warmth. At the centre-left, a mother elephant and her round, clumsy calf stand at the water's edge — the mother's trunk lowered toward the calf, the calf's small trunk curling experimentally upward to meet hers, the gesture that is the emotional heart of the panel. To their right, a giraffe bends its long neck in an elegant arc to drink, legs splayed wide, golden-brown ochre patches dissolving at the edges in wet-on-wet wash. In the right third, a lioness rests in tall savanna grass with her sleepy cub tucked against her flank, amber eyes open but relaxed. Two zebras graze in the middle distance, their stripes rendered in soft charcoal rather than stark black. A flamingo stands one-legged in the shallows; a hippo surfaces half-submerged, just round ears and snout above the waterline; a toucan perches on a high branch with its warm-gradient bill tilted in curiosity. Hidden in the acacia canopy above, a monkey watches the scene below with bright intelligent eyes. A blue butterfly hovers above the watering hole; a slender dragonfly flits near the foreground grasses. The waterhole's surface catches soft sky reflections in muted gold and sage.
